The following are three scenarios of how rental works:
- Repairable vehicles: Rental is calculated based on the amount of time needed to repair a vehicle. The daily rental amount does not cover gas, mileage, or extra insurance.
- Theft: Most CSE policies advise that rental will start 48 hours after the theft is reported to the police. Please note that there is a 21 calendar day window that CSE will wait before the vehicle is deemed an unrecoverable total loss. There are circumstances in which CSE may take additional time beyond the 21 calendar days to investigate a theft claim.
- Total Loss: In the case of a total loss, rental is extended seven (7) calendar days after the offer is tendered.
