New Business
- Create a new business policy and add a vehicle (third-party report will run as soon as you enter the VIN)
- Change the “Milage Type” to ‘Verified’
- Enter the “Current Odometer Reading” and “Current Odometer Reading Date”
- If an insured disagrees with the milage provided from the third-party vendor an agent can change the “Verified Mileage Override” dropdown from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’ and then enter the actual annual mileage in the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
- The vehicle will be rated in the Verified Mileage program using the mileage provided by the insured and entered into the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
Mid-Term Endorsements
Adding A New Vehicle:
- Start an endorsement and add a new vehicle (third-party report will run as soon as you enter the VIN)
- Change the “Milage Type” to ‘Verified’
- Enter the “Current Odometer Reading” and “Current Odometer Reading Date”
- If an insured disagrees with the milage provided from the third-party vendor an agent (or CU) can change the “Verified Mileage Override” dropdown from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’ and then enter the actual annual mileage in the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
- The vehicle will be rated in the Verified Mileage program with the mileage from the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
Replacing a Vehicle:
- Start an endorsement and select the vehicle you would like to replace and enter the new vehicle (third-party report will run as soon as you enter the VIN)
- Mileage from the existing vehicle will carry over to the new vehicle that has been entered
- If an insured disagrees with the mileage from the previous vehicle an agent (or CU) can change the “Verified Mileage Override” dropdown from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’ and then enter the actual annual mileage in the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
- The vehicle will be rated in the Verified Mileage program with the mileage from the “Insured estimated annual miles driven” field.
Making Changes To An Existing Vehicle:
On endorsement, making changes to an existing vehicle can only be done by a CU. Please contact Customer Service ([email protected]) or your Underwriter and be prepared to provide a valid current odometer reading.
A valid current odometer reading must come from:
- Automotive repair dealer
- Smog check station licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair
- California Department of Motor Vehicles
- Any other governmental agency that maintains public records of vehicle odometer readings.
Renewals
On Renewal, insureds in the Verified Mileage Program will renew with the mileage validated from the third-party report.
If the insured does not agree with the mileage returned, please contact Customer Service ([email protected]) or your Underwriter and be prepared to provide a valid current odometer reading.
A valid current odometer reading must come from:
- Automotive repair dealer
- Smog check station licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair
- California Department of Motor Vehicles
- Any other governmental agency that maintains public records of vehicle odometer readings.
